Austin filmfest nominates ‘The Badger’

Iranian feature film ‘The Badger’ has won two nominations at the 27th edition of the Austin Film Festival in the US.

Kazem Mollaee’s feature has been nominated for the Best Narrative film award and the Audience Award at this year’s edition of the American Academy Award Qualifying film event.

The movie starring Vishka Asayesh is the story of a 40-year-old woman. She is named Soudeh Sharifzadegan and she is facing a difficult challenge in her private life at the time her second marriage nears.

In addition to Asayesh, the flick's cast list includes names such as Hassan Majouni, Mehraveh Sharifinia, Behnoush Bakhtiyari, Reza Behboudi and Gohar Kheirandish.

‘The Badger’ has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Shanghai International Film Festival in China.

The Austin Film Festival is an arena for young and talented writers and filmmakers to present their works.

The 27th edition of the film fest is slated for October 22-29, 2020.
